Today there was the classic car morning at the circuit in Zandvoort, and the first time for the Saab to go to an event with its new owners.
It was a beautiful day to take the Saab out for a spin, and what better than let it burn some rubber on a circuit.
We went with some friends a 65 VW Beetle a (don't kill me if I'm wrong) 57 VW Beetle and of course the Saab99 Turbo 2.
We loved every minute of it, the sun was shining there where a lot of beautiful old cars and we had a chance to ride around the circuit.
Jet took a lot of pictures and you can find them on:

a nice day with the Saab
I had a day off and the sun was peeking trough the the clouds so it was time to work on the Saab.
the first problem was that the window on the passenger side still needed fixing, some extra pieces of duck-tape and that was that.
The other problem is that the rear light on the right side is not working properly only the brake and the turn light are working. The 5W bulbs are good so now i need to look further, need to check if all connectors are clean and making contact but that is fore tomorrow when it is dry.
and here some pictures i made today.

Fixing the window
This evening i made an appointment with my men Niels aka Ordo the keef man, a college who drives a 65 VW Beetle.
In the village where we live he is the tenant of a not so big, but big enough garage.
That was the place where we fixed the window on the passengers side of the Saab.
The solution was a simple but effective one, first we took out the entire window en cleaned it thoroughly. than we inspected the window rubbers for sharp edges or something that good scratch the glass.
Then i used some peace's of stage tape or ducktape and stick them at the bottom of the window, so when the window is lowered in the mechanism is got stuck between the rubbers. a brilliant and simple solution that works.
We had some trouble to screw de door cover back on, and it took a while before we figured out how the lock worked. The door lock knob only locks or unlock manually when the door is closed and does not move up or down when the door is opened.
But when we had seen the light it was a peace of cake
The next thing on the list that needs fixing is the dashboard panel light that is not working and the rear light that's also not working. and i think that i start to check the fusebox to see if that's the problem.

When the Saab returned from the storage one of the things that must be done is the window on the passengers site. when you try to open it, it doesn't roll down and if the window drop down mechanism is in its lower position, the window is hanging awry.
So today is the perfect day to see what's wrong with the window on the passenger site.
when you look closer you see that the window is not hanging properly in the mechanism.

When i tried to roll the window in the up ride position i heard a nasty scratching noise and there where some scratches on the glass.
Now a must waite on a mate and he's gone help me to get the window completely out of the door so i can clean everything.
will be continued!!!!
